The birth of Yokohama Chinatown is thought to have been when Commodore Perry visited Japan here in On July 14, 1853, this caused the Shogunate Ieyasu Tokugawa to choose Yokohama as Japan's first international port of trade.
After that, many Chinese came to live in the town which led to many Chinese restaurants opening so that Chinese people living there can enjoy the food of their homeland. There are 239 Chinese restaurants in the town and 626 shops all which make up Chinatown.
Sankeien Garden

Sankeien garden was opened in 1906.
The whole garden is as large as 175,000 square meters and the garden places are reminiscent of Kyoto and Kamakura.

Minato Mirai 21 is the name of the project to transform the metropolitan area of Yokohama.
"Minato" means "port" in Japanese and "Mirai" means "future".
In 1989, "Minato Mirai" became the name of the town in Yokohama and there are many places here for visitors to enjoy.
The Yokohama Landmark Tower is the tallest building in Japan and Yokohama Akarenga (Red Brick Warehouse) is home to many fashionable shops.
