On the orders of Ieyasu Tokugawa, the shogunate in the Edo period, Nagoya Castle was constructed in 1612.
Air raids on Nagoya city in the Second World War caused huge damage to the castle, but fortunately the inner frame of the main part of the castle survived so it was able to be reconstructed again.
The most famous parts of castle are the golden dolphins (kinno shachihoko) which are placed on either side of the roof of the castle.

For visitors who do not have much time, visiting only the Naiku is highly recommended.
